I'm sure this has been asked and I searched but I can't find a thread with my questions specifically.

We generally eat BEFORE because my husband/kids can't wait until after. But what is Optimal?

And if we do eat before, how long should we wait before going to the gym?

I generally say both. At least an hour before, and within the hour after.

I am a runner, and I will only eat before running, if it's at least 2 hours before a run. Otherwise, after.

I have yogurt before and a protein shot after.

I eat before and after- protein both times.

As far as how long before- sometimes I'll eat 10 minutes before all the way to an hour. And after- I have a protein shake typically within 30 minutes after I work out.

I do both. I generally eat a small meal before my workout, and then have a protein shake with some fruits after my work out.

I'm a runner training for my first marathon... carbs before to fuel the run, something with protein within 30 minutes of the end of each run.

I only eat before if I am lifting, and it might just be a protein shake and oats. If it's cardio morning I do not eat.

Always eat after a workout within 30 minutes, your body is needing it. A good mix of protein and carbs with little fat.
