Cat litter

Ok, I know that's an odd way to title an NSV, but hear me out. So I realize that my ticker says I've lost more, and I have, in the past 6 years, lost that much, but since I've started MFP I've dropped 25 lbs.
I was pretty happy about this. I liked that I have dropped sizes (from an 18 to a 13 pant size) I liked that my belly is going away. I liked that I'm making progress towards my goal of losing another 35 lbs.
But I was starting to get scared/worried/discouraged about the next 35. I kept letting myself think about how I was LESS THAN HALFWAY THERE, UGGHHHH. And the first plateau was really bumming me out.
So the other day I was buying cat litter and I picked up a 25 lb bag. I remembered back in my single days of living in a third floor apartment with no elevator that I used to haul these things up the stairs. HEAVY. I dropped it, "UUGGHHHH," in the basket, and it occured to me, that I've lost a whole bag of cat litter.
A WHOLE BAG OF CAT LITTER. Those things are crazy heavy! Then I started thinking about the 65 lbs that I've lost total. I've lost the equivalent of a little kid!
I considered trying to carry that bag around the store on my back or my shoulder to remind myself what the extra weight felt like on my legs, but decided not to. Why go back?
But I smacked myself for not being proud in my accomplishment. I scolded myself for thinking about how much farther I had to go and not realizing that I am heading in that direction.
And I went out and bought a hula hoop to get past this plateau. Not giving up today.
Be proud of what you've been able to accomplish, no matter how small or trivial it looks to you. Even if you've lost no weight yet, just the simple fact that you are here is a big change from who you were before you got here.
CONGRATULATIONS TO US ALL.

Good job! And great analogy.
I have a 35# bucket of Tidy Cat in the car I need to bring in. It boggles my mind that a year ago, I walked around carrying the equivalent of that bucket everywhere!0
