Scale, body mass information?..

G'day, I have a new set of scales that tells me my fat, water, muscle and bone percentages but I'm not quite sure what I should be aiming for. I am currently:
Fat - 22.4%
Water - 53.5%
Muscle 40.5% and
Bone - 14.3%

Can anyone tell me what this means and what I should be aiming for?
Why don't they add up to 100 if they are percentages?

Maybe cause the fat and muscle have water too.

I think I'd return that if the product insert didn't give you a good explanation of why the numbers add up to like 130%

I'm guessing they don't add up to 100% because you have other things like organs, and cartiledge and hair and skin and toe nails that don't fall into any of those catagories.

    Here's a place to start...

I haven't been tracking all these things , so someone else might have a better suggestion.

D'oh I didn't add the numbers, when he said that they didn't come out to 100% I assumed it was LESS THAN 100%... silly me. :ohwell:

the higher your hydration level the less body fat you'll have, somewhere in the instructional booklet it should tell you what percentages to shoot for. At least the scale I bought did. The scale isn't going to be 100% accurate but to look at it week to week and see the change is what's important.

I don't worry too much about percentages. The brain is mostly fat, after all ;)
