I've been on here for a few weeks now and have so far lost 9 lbs, putting me back into the normal BMI range. I've had my goal set at 1.5 lbs of loss a week and have fairly consistently been losing about a pound a week. I usually stayed under on my calories except for the weekends. But with my most recent weigh in, my guided goal calories went down to 1,290. I know that's possible to do but realistically I know I'll be hungry and it doesn't sound healthy. So, I decided to try switching my guided loss to 1 lb a week and that bumped my calories up to 1,540. I haven't gotten near to 1,500 during my first 9 lbs of loss and I'm worried that will slow my progress. Should I try to find a middle ground or do you all think I should go with the higher or lower number? This may sound like a silly question but I'm worried and don't want to mess up my loss.

Maybe aim for between the two? If you think 1500 is too much, try to eat closer to 1350 or 1400.

You're really going to struggle when you eventually get to maintenance if you're struggling to get to 1500....

ETA: I didn't mean to sound rude!! Try adding cheese or full fat milk, or switching back from low-fat options that you've switched to. Often those extra calories can boost you back up while not making you eat 'junk' to fill your calories for the day.
  • I am eating 1500 and its been working for me.

I don't think you're being rude. It's true and you're being helpful. I think my problem is more mental. 1500 isn't a big number but it's higher than I've been doing so I'm worried. And those are good suggestions. I miss milk.

I changed mine to 1300 and it's working for me. I bet 1350 or 1400 would be a good range to shoot for. Definitely drink your milk girl, does a body good! I drink 1% but occasionally when I'm out I will drink my kids 2% and it tastes so good!
