Standard Weight for Machine Plates

Hi guys,
Does anyone know the standard weight that one metal plate in a standard exercise machine weighs?
I find it difficult calculating the amount I lift on machines and find myself estimating at 1-2kg a plate.
Anyone know a standard I could go by? Thanks.

The weight stack on machines? They could vary between 2.5-10lbs. If you don't know, ask someone who works there. Or look at a peice of equipment from the same manufacturer and see if the readings are still there, most will use the same weight variation on plates.0

Hrmm... I would gladly ask staff but they are never around when I need them! I workout at lunchtimes, which conveniently is their 'off times' for staff... gets frustrating, I'm a member and I still can't get service!
But sounds like 2kg is a decent medium when gauging this. Thanks!0 -
Way too much variance. Most Cybex machines use 12.5lb plates.0
