Just wondering if there is a binge free group on here anywhere. I would like to try and go 21 days (and then keep going!) without a binge. They say it takes 21 days to break a habit . I am tired of not having control over food.

i'm currently 10 days binge free

i'm doing this for myself though and i find when i join challenges and whatnot, it doesn't really help me, sorry. it doesn't help me keep more accountable. I have to fix whatever is going on inside of me that makes me binge 2000+ calories in one sitting. I also notice some folks around here equate binging with the act of overeating their calories :grumble:

I hope you find some people to join you though because if that's how you stay accountable, then thats wonderful. It didn't work well for me when I tried to do that earlier. It's so hard, but remember that if you do eat something ****ty, the rest of the day doesn't have to turn into a binge fest. Easier said then done, i know.

Well...If you gys are interested, I'm going to start a new thread called, "21 Days Binge Free". (It would be so great to make it 21 days and then just keep it up, another 21 days and so on....But, right now I need to focus on taking it 1 day at a time to make it to my first 21. I seem to be able to eat well all week, and then blow it about Friday night and on through Sunday. Only to start it all over again on Monday. So tired of it! So...

Each morning let's post being binge free from the day before (thinking positive! We can do this!). Also, post the challenges that you faced and how you were able to push through the temptation. Any ideas for dealing with bingeing would be great too. We can all use the help and ideas from each other.

I did make it through yesterday, yippee!, but we'll start with today being day one. That would put the 21st day of the challenge being March 2nd.

I'll post the thread now. It is nice knowing we are not alone in our struggles with food. We can do this! We are powerful!!

10 days is awesome! You are doing great! I totally understand about doing what works best for you. No one knows I struggle with this, so I am hoping that being able to share thoughts about it and overcoming my binge demon, it will help. I feel like it's this big dark secret I'm hiding. I'm tired of letting it have power over me. It's so stupid that I can't seem to control my actions. I want to be free.

Also, where did you get the cool binge free ticker? I would love one!

I was thinking the other day at all the negative and degrading things I say to myself after bingeing. And how I would never say those kinds of mean things to anyone else. When I don't love myself, it totally carries over to the way I treat my husband and my kids. It's not fair to me or to them. I want to love myself and feel good about the choices I make and I want my kids to learn happines and confidence from my example.
