I was wondering if anybody had a recipe for a homemade soup that had less than 200mg of sodium in it? I know I'm grasping at strings here, but I'll try anything! I miss soup on these cold winter days :0)

Thanks!

You can make your own Chicken and veggie broth for the base. Just boil a chicken carcass and veggies together. Once you remove the super mushy veggies and over cooked chicken you can add fresh veggies, cubed chicken breast. barley, rice or pasta. You add the seasonings. But add salt when you serve it, that way you can control how much is in your bowl. All ingredients can be added in any portion. If you freeze some of the broth then you can later make a thicker soup with it using a roux. 2 tbsp butter/margerine/oil and 2 tbps flour. cook together for 1 and half min stirring constantly so the flour doesn't burn then you can slowly whisk (prevents clumps) in about 1 and 3/4 cups broth and if need more liquid you can add an 1/4 cup broth, water or low fat milk. Cook for 2 min then add whatever you want, you will have a consistancy closer to stew and you only used 2 tbps of flour for all of it. Remember though the more you liquid you add the more "watered" down the flavour will be so don't forget to add your seasoning to suit. If you want a single portion you can use tsp instead of Tbsp and less liquid.
