Down to one diet coke a day...

I am down to one diet coke a day and already I notice the difference. I only have one in the morning to curb the caffeine cravings until I find a substitute. Sweets are sickening to me and I do not want any fried foods. Healthy foods taste better but I am just so sleepy. I can't get passed the sleepiness in the morning and give in to a diet coke.

Thats my downfall..Diet Coke. I have a couple a day. But I do drink alot of water so I guess in my mind I can deal with it. haha. One thing at a time....
Good luck!0 -
First of all congratulations! I feel your pain sister I know how addictive that stuff is! I usually have 3 cans a day. Today I only let myself have one for dinner, hopefully I can keep up for the rest of the week! Yesterday I had 2.5 cans of pepsi max and 1 bottle of coke zero and I felt absolutely sick so I realised how badly I need to quit!0

 congrats0

Congrats, I know it's hard. I've done it (with Diet Pepsi). My question to you would be how much sleep are you getting? I know that now that I'm off caffeine I crave it most when I don't get a full 8-9 hours of sleep. Try getting more sleep and see if that helps you.

 Yay! Great job!
I am a diet coke addict. I am in love with the stuff. I've also cut it down to one (or two :blushing: ) a day and I'm finding that it's losing it's appeal to me. I can normally down a can in less than 5-10 minutes but I popped one open last night, and 2 1/2 hours later I had about half gone and then threw it away.
I don't think I'll ever give it up though. Like a previous poster said, I drink tons of water (128oz a day) so I deserve a diet coke every once in a while.0 -
Try a 5 hour energy..that'll help pick you up, it's worked for me on days I got 4 hours0

First off-that's fantastic. I think diet coke is one of the most addictive diet drinks out there so if you've cut down to 1 you are doing great. You could try buying the little 8oz bottles (I assume by 1 you mean a 20 oz) so you still get your kick but not as much.
When I kicked Pepsi Max it was the aspartame, not the caffeine that killed me.0 -
Most of the time I have one soda a day , usually a Coke Zero and usually at night with my supper. The long term effects are still up in the air, obviously, but have not noticed any negative effects so far.0

Good for you!!!
I am also down to one can of Vanilla Coke Zero a day; usually around 3:30 in the afternoon. Maybe once a week or every other week, I'll go to Sonic and get a Route 44 Diet Coke. I went a few weeks where I had eliminated the coke and replaced it with Green Tea, but I read on here that someone was having issues with constipation from Green Tea (I was also having issues, but hadn't put the two together), so I quit that and returned to the Coke Zero.0 -
eek when I was at my lowest weight I drank loads of Diet coke, it really helped with my weight loss... is it really terrible? is it the aspartame? or the caffeine (suddenly I'm terrified bout all the potential damage I have been doing to my body!)
kicking any habbit/addiction is hard (i quit smoking two years ago and I actually found my craving for diet coke when i didn't have any was probably worse than craving nicotine! and so much harder when trying to lose weight) so WELL DONE! how did you manage it?0 -
I had six cans of Pepsi Max today.
SIX.
I need help. :L0 -
this used to be me! i actually hid bottles under my bed after my parents banned me from drinking it... (years ago) god reading this is making me crave! I just think, better to have a couple of diet cokes than a couple of cheesburgers...0

Exactly, although the Hate Brigade will soon be here to tell you diet coke is worse than drinking liquid paraffin....0 -

Actually I no interest in a burger without a diet coke. I'd love to have them together though!0 -
