Vegan Easy Peace Loaf

This is what I'm making for thanksgiving =] it sounds really yummy. I'm adding sesame seeds and using Gimme Lean Sausage style since they don't sell beef style around here lol. Someone mentioned subbing morning star crumbles where I got the recipe but it didn't stay together well, gimme lean stays together really well. I'm sorry I don't have the calorie count I wouldn't imagine it's too bad, plus I plan on using portion control and walks rather than calorie counting for thanksgiving lol.
Everyone have a great thanksgiving!!!
Easy Peace Loaf
Ingredients (use vegan versions):
1 (14 ounce) package vegan ground beef (I use Gimme Lean Ground Beef Style)
1 cup rolled oats
2/3 cup organic ketchup
3/4 cup onion, finely chopped
1/2 cup parsley, finely chopped
1 teaspoon ground thyme
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
2 tablespoons light olive oil
olive oil, for greasing
Directions:
This is a modified recipe and has been tested on recent ex-meat eaters who love it.
1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Mush it together with your clean hands so that its well mixed, but not over mixed.
2. Lightly grease (with olive oil) a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. Place the mixture inside and form a loaf.
3. Bake for 35-45 minutes, until a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean. Since this has very little oil in it, you might want to put some tin foil on top so it doesn't dry out, or spread 1/4 teaspoon of oil right on the top. Check the middle after 30 minutes.
Serve with gravy, peas, and mashed potatoes. I served this to a man who went vegan on MeatOut (March 20, 2005), he could not believe it is vegan.
Serves: 4-6, Preparation time: 10 min.
