I see that many of you create before and after pics and have them side by side, sometimes labeled and with comments. Clue a girl in and tell me how you do that. Are you putting the photos on a word document? I'm going to be taking my first after photo in a few weeks and would love to post them with the date they were taken and what I weighed at the time. Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

I like SnagIt for doing that kind of thing. It is software that allows you to do a screen capture (or portion of a screen) and then do some editing.
  • I generally use Photoshop for any kind of photo editing. You can get GIMP which is essentially an open source (free) version. http://www.gimpshop.com/

easiest way to do that - if you don't have the uber expensive photo software - is to make sure they're a .jpg and then put it in Paint. you can only resize one at a time, which can suck, but you can get it done. just start a new paint project, open "my pictures", if you're working on XP or 7 you can drag and drop the pic you want to use. Re size as you want. then drag and drop the second pic and re-size and put them side-by-side. then you can add a text box - make sure to color your text so that it's easily seen and have a font that you like. again, you can't manipulate once you click away from the text box; but as long as you know that going in, it's not too tough.

    hope that works for ya.
  • there are many ways to do it some are more professional and others are just simple. If you want to go all out you can always use a photo editor program (free types like Picasa by Google or paid like PhotoShop). Now I do photo editing but for me its more for important pictures that I want to have printed and framed. For a side by side comparison of your progress you can go as simple as paint. I personally love to use paint for simple projects, such as side by side photos.

If you use paint you can put the typing anywhere you like on the photo, size how you like, etc. For adding pictures just go to 'paste' than 'paste from' which will allow you to insert a picture from your desk top. repeat as much as you like and size how you like.
