Thanksgiving/Holiday motivation

This holidays are almost here and the wonderful smells of baked goods are in the air. What can we all do to resist the temptation of going overboard. Here are some thoughts:
1. Eat some almonds about half hour before I eat to stop the cravings
2. Create a weightloss bracelet to remind me how hard I have come in the past two months (18.4 loss). I'm thinking of something as simple as colored paperclips.
3. Bring quality dark chocolate bites to eat as dessert. I have a sweet tooth and it usually stops me from eating half a pumpkin pie.
4. Water....Water....Water...and tea
If all else fails, look at my picture in a leotard. Okay, never took an actual picture but I do have a before picture handy on my phone ( I really hope I never lose my phone).
What are your suggestions?

Treat it like a regular day... i.e., don't do what I used to do and starve yourself all day saving up for the big meal. It's going to backfire, you're going to binge eat, and then you're going to hate yourself.0

Great idea. I always have my best workouts the day after Christmas dinner.0 -
I am making a low calorie crustless pumpkin pie so I can have dessert. And bringing a veggie platter so there is a healthy appetizer choice. Alcohol is gonna be my weakness.0

I like the suggestions. I'm going to go for a run early morning. Normally I have to take runs in the afternoon when my wife and I are home from work. On holidays when we are both home, I love to run early. If I overdo the food, I'll ride the exercise bike while I catch up on football.0

DON"T skip a workout. I always try to get in a long run the mornings before holiday meals.
But DO skip foods that you can eat any time of year. If you indulge, indulge in "seasonal" stuff. And usually a bite or 2 will take care of it!! You don't need to eat the whole thing.
