Things are starting to get a bit complicating. I really want to lose this lower abdominal stomach fat and aim for a flat - toned tummy. I've been trying my best to eat 'clean', maintain this healthy lifestyle as well as going to the gym 3x a week but I feel as if i'm doing something wrong? Or maybe i'm just not doing ENOUGH? I also want to be able to step on the scale and see the numbers go up by 5 pounds (muscle) and keep my BF% low. I honestly can't afford a trainer at the gym right now.. so any tips from my supportive MFP friends on what I can do would be so helpful!! I've reached "skinny" but it's time to reach FIT.
When I go to the gym, I usually switch it up with a run/jog on the treadmill and a brisk paced walk for about 30 mins. Then I do a 30 min mix of weight lifting and core exercises. I am definitely not giving up, as I know it takes time.. hard work, effort, motivation.. I would just love more tips on being able to push myself and reach my goal!

Ah, the dreaded last couple of pounds of BF to lose. I feel your pain/frustration as I am in a similar situation.
When you start getting down into the low numbers, your meal's content, frequency, and maco-breakdowns become extremely important. As a general rule of thumb, you should always keep the protein content sky high, go easy on the carbs, and moderate on the healthy fats. Combined with a strong workout regiment and water intake, you'll start shredding down in no time.
Also, have patience and maintain your discipline!0 -

Thankyou for your response! I've been trying to aim for high protein and keep my carbs under 115g a day, as eating carbs at night bloat me up the next morning which is definitely not a good feeling lol. I'm almost - always over on fat, although it is all healthy fats. I'm still learning more & more everyday, hopefully I can reach my goal..0
