My husband and I ave four kids three girls and one boy we ended up choosing names together but he hated almost all my names so we had to compromise. I think it's because it means he will have an heir alittle man of his own and wants a manly name. My daughters are; Paris Shaal, Jorden Fiona Makahyl, Rowan Gwendolyn and finally my son is Liam Kade.

I hope I'm carrying a girl because we gave our 1st son ALL the names we liked!

We started off with trying to find bilingual names (Japanese/English) and found loads for girls (Hana,Mei, Naomi, Tori) but only Ken for boys, and neither of us like that. Taiga would have been fun, but hard to live with. We went for Christian in the end because he was conceived Christingle weekend.

I have been told that if we're having a girl she'll be called Felicity Mei , and I'm fine with that. A boy? No idea! My dad is the problem there too. We liked Kent as that would be Kento in Japanese, plus my parents are from Kent, but that really isn't a normal name in England.

I understand. I can't have any more babies because we ran out of acceptable boys' names. We used Joe, John and David. Any other boy name that I have suggested has been nixed by my husband.

HAHAHHA.. this made me laugh, but I can relate! Our sons are named Avery and Barrett.... so the joke is, if we have another child, their name would have to start with a C, and we can't agree on any C names! :grumble:

My husband is pretty particular about boy's names too - he hates his name and doesn't want to use anything common or popular. I rattled off a bunch and he rejected a lot - then I went more unique and he didn't like those either. We finally found a few that were acceptable....

Girl's names on the other hand - I am the one who can't stand girls names..

My vote would be for "Colin". :)

That was my suggestion.. I love that name, but my husband isn't a fan and for a girl I liked Claire.. again, he wasn't thrilled with it.

**ETA Obviously he doesn't have as good of taste with names as I do. :)

Maybe he just wants to be sure his son has a "strong" name. I can understand.

    <---- Logan Connor

I like the name Logan..but our good friends named their son that. That's what happend when you wait. Everyone starts takin the good names lol.

YES, this is true... some of our friends have had babies recently, and I'm like "awwwww, I love that name!!.... wait... can't use that one anymore..." hahaha!!

I'm kind of struggling thinking of future names... I tend to like girl names that end in an "-ey" sound... Lucy, Emily, Hailey, etc etc.... but our last name is also "-ey" so I think it might sound too sing-song... *sigh*... they sounded so much better with my maiden name!! haha.

At this point my husband just smiles and nods... I wonder if he will stay as non-opinionated once we actually do have kids... my guess is no, lol

My (ex) husband did the same thing. It's because he wanted the child named after him but didn't want to outright say it.

    He wanted a Norman IV.

No, we're not f*ing royalty. NO!
  • DO NOT NAME YOUR KID SOMETHING THAT MAKES IT EASY FOR OTHER KIDS TO TEASE THEM !!

Take it from someone whos' been there. You see how crazy I am.
  • I have a Davis Andrew and an Emily Elizabeth.

My brother was passionately campaigning to name his son Optimus Prime.

    He didn't win.

We have a girl name chosen that we both love and instantly agreed on...Macy Evelyn. We can't agree on boys AT ALL. He loves Jack, I kind of hate it. My favorite boy name is Abel. I looooove Abel. We have time, maybe I can convince him. Or maybe we'll just have girls. We have lots of girl names we both like!
