I'm running a marathon in spring although not currently following a plan. Ascics do a personalised plan online for free!

    Which one are you doing?
  • Look up Hal Higdon. He has great training programs from novice to elite. Just google him and you'll find tons of programs.

My "official" training starts Christmas day for my first marathon on May 6 2012

I'm basing my training schedule off of Hal Higdon's novice 1 and novice 2 but I am def tweaking a little to better fit my needs.

I'm training for the Winnipeg Police Service Half and the Fargo Full Marathon both in May.

I've had to tailor my own running schedule around the 10Km Running Room Clinics I am currently coaching. I'm in week 2 of a 27 week schedule. The half marathon is also really only a training run. LOL.

im doing the Indy Mini and Cleveland Rite aid HM in May and the Kona marathon in June. I went to the Runnersworld website under smartcoach and im doing their training schedule. looked into Hal Higdons program (advance 1) and i may flip flop between the two depending on my schedule and how aggresive i want to train. its kinda hard here in the Midwest. You can never tell what kind of weather youll wind up with

Look Under Groups for the running group for more support as an endurance athlete.

Another vote for Higdon. I like his Intermediate 1 plan much better than his novice plans.

Feel free to join our marathon group, then is a thread on this very topic there.

Thanks for all your comments. This will be my 2nd marathon although my first was a few years ago so I may as well class this is as my first!
I think i sort of followed Hal's plan before and I've already had a look at his novice plans i will need to tweak them a bit to suit what I want but thats ok.
My marathon is April 15th and as Im just getting back into running seriously I will have to see how it goes through January.
It looks like you are all in the USA. Im in the UK.
Ill check out the group and other threads and maybe catch up with some of you again for support and inspiration!

I hadn't even looked at the intermediate until now, and I'm thinking I like it!
