10% reduction in body fat!

I belong to a gym that has a few programs during the year where they do weigh-ints. At the beginning of the year I did an 8 week program in which I lost 13.7 pounds and 3% of my body fat. It ended March 8. Today I went to weigh in for the hold it for the holidays challenge and I was 5 pounds less on that scale than I was in March - which isn't a whole lot. I asked the trainer to measure my body fat too and it was 10% lower than in March! So in 8 months I have only lost 5 pounds but over 16 pounds of fat and obviously gained muscle/lean tissue.

I have been fairly discouraged by the fact that I lost 25 pounds from November to March and fight to be 5 pounds lower than that now. Even though I know I am smaller since I now wear an 8 instead of a 14 I still am not happy that my results aren't better. I am so encouraged to know that even though I don't weigh a lot less, I have burned a lot of fat!

    Great job!! I have struggled recently with a scale that hasn't budged but I was pleased with my measurements today!! It just goes to show you that all of your hard work shouldn't be based on the scale!! great job keep it up!!!

    That's awesome. I love the lean felling. It really makes me feel like my workouts and exercising is not in vain. Congrats on all your success

    awesome amy! that is so reassuring as my weight loss is extremly slow too- it takes 3-4 months to loose 5 pounds for me too.
