Anyone own a HRM with GPS?

Hello everyone,

I have read a million an one reviews and I am leaning toward the Garmin Forerunner 305 as of now. Does anyone own one or know anyone that owns one and enjoys it? The only thing that stinks about the 305 is that I would need to purchase a $70 attachment for the HRM to work inside....this really isn't an issue though because I can still use my old one whenever I am indoors, but if anyone owns one that the HRM functions indoors, I would love to hear about it!

Thanks! :)

I have the 305. It's fantastic. And I don't know what attachment you're talking about. You just set it to indoor mode, right? My only complaint is that it doesn't use your heart rate to calculate calories. But you can plug that into any website.

For the price? You can't go wrong.

I have the Garmin 305. I LOVE it! But I've never thought to use the HRM inside--I didn't know there was such an attachment, I would buy it just so I don't have to buy another HRM. The watch is just great, it made me a better runner this summer. I couldn't leave home without it. It makes me a carefree runner, I can go where I want. My only problem with it is how big it is (it ain't pretty!), but you get used to that. And the price is just right! I love mine.

I have the forerunner 305 and have had it for several years. I love it. I also subscribe to mapmyfitness.com to keep track of my routes (can be done with the connect.garmin.com as well.

It has been absolutely worthwhile for me to invest in the 305. I am not sure what the footpod will add. I guess I need to find out won't I LOL

It's well worth the investment. I have a Garmin FR60, and although it's not one of the GPS models, I absolutely LOVE it. You can actually find the straps for cheaper than $70 if you look around. My spin instructor found one for about $30 and it was brand new...from buy.com maybe - can't remember. Either way - Garmin's ROCK, especially if you have the ANT+USB stick that uploads your data to your computer - then you can use their free software to check your progress, run reports, etc...also, a lot of machines at gyms will pair with your Garmin. They're expensive, but you won't regret your investment.

If you have the GPS enabled Garmin, I don't think the footpod is necessary at all. I have the footpod because mine isn't GPS, but my husband has a GPS model and doesn't ever have to use the footpod. Maybe it's only necessary if you're on a treadmill because then the GPS wouldn't read any mileage?

Yeah, I wanted to be able to use it indoors to track calories burned too.
