OK, so I am trying to make gingerbread (with fresh ginger) cupcakes or something of the sort and would really love to make cream cheese frosting that does not have such an aftertaste or uses artificial sweeteners.
my dream would be to make a gluten free gingerbread with the frosting

I might switch to carrot cake bc I love it!!!!

I have checked skinnytaste.com and done so much searching as well
Maybe someone has some ideas.

I would be willing to make a pumpkin spice dessert, but someone else is bringing pumpkin dish and would really love to try the gingerbread.

Let me know if anyone has any suggestions! I am not a big baker, but definitely have moved to healthier eating and want to incorporate better ingredients (applesauce, etc)

Thanks!

You could use honey instead of white sugar. A lot of people use stevia, you might want to test it before you make a big batch. I find stevia tastes a bit herbal. Frosting in itself is indulgent, I say embrace the sweetness. :-)
