Weighing Meat????

Do you weigh your meat before or after you cook it? I was just wondering, I am eatin pork chops tonight and weighed them before I cooked them they were 7 3/4 ounces and after I cooked them they weighed 6 1/4 am I cheating myself I am wrote in my journal 8 ounces????? Someone please let me know.....

    I weigh after I cook

    I would go with the weight after it was cooked, the weight difference is usually the fluid in the meat and the fat that cooks out.

    I measure mine after, but you can do either. Just make sure you select the right option in the food database: ex: chicken breast, meat only, grilled- 3 oz, vs chicken breast, meat only, raw, 7 oz
