The Warrior Dash is a Great Goal!

So I've done three obstacle mud runs this year, but my last one was several months back. I'm going to use the first mud run I ever ran, The Warrior Dash, as a fitness goal.

For anyone looking to one of these 5Ks I would say do it! They are loads of fun and a great long-term fitness goal. I've seen people of all ages, sizes and fitness levels participate. One of the most inspiring sights was an older gentleman with a knee brace walk/jogging the course until he finished it! And really, who doesn't like playing in the mud? ;0)

I know there are tons of these mud runs throughout the US, Canada and even a few that I know of in the UK.

I highly recommend them!

That was my first goal too. Completed this past April. Also did Rugged Maniac a few weeks ago and I'm signed up for Tough Mudder in January and Warrior Dash again next April. They are a blast.

YOu will have a blast! Just a word of caution: They're addicting. I guess that's two words. LOL!

I have been so tempted to sign up for the one in Sydney too, kinda scared but it looks like fun.

Is it a whole lot of running?

From pictures I've seen, they look like a military basic training confidence course. Do you need good upper body strength?

You can run/walk it. I did for part of some courses and yes, there are obstacles that require some upper body strenght, but don't be scared! If my big booty can do it, you can do it!

You do have to have some, but nothing extraordinary. I will try to post some of my pics from different runs I've done.

I am SO stoked about this challenge now that I know of it.
Ordered my kilt today to wear when I fundraise for St Jude! Gotta get my upper body in shape or I may not make it over the top of those walls.
    Whoop! Whoop! :drinker:
