Changing Diary logs (meal times/names)?

I currently use the standard MFP settings for my food diary, but am starting to realise I need to track better.
If you have changed your diary settings (ie meal names / times etc), could you let me know what works for you or what's advisable?
My trainer gave me a manual log sheet that breaks the day into times, ie:
7-11
11-2
2-4
4-8
(I think they were the times, I need to double check) - is 4 enough? or more during the day?
I know this will mess up the diary I have created so far, but I am keen to change this from 1st Dec, so I start a new month with the new system..
Any comments appreciated and thanks in advance for your advice as well..

I just change mine too. My personal trainer suggested 6 meals so I numbered them... Meal 1.... thru... Meal 6. My thought was, currently my goal is to have 6 separate meals. Not as crucial at what time I eat as that I get to the point of eating 6 mini meals. To date, I have managed 5... with the 6th meal being a light protein stack after working out. I don't think the verbiage is as important as the act of eating smaller, better distributed meals. I know for myself, work days are easier to maintain the multi-meal goal. You can always munch on carrots at your desk. LOL. Weekends are difficult for me, because it seems like I am always out running with the kids.
I do like your idea for names. If that works for you, go for it. I can definitely see where times could be helpful. Especially on weekends.
Keep up the good fight.0 -
I have 6 !!! breakfast , morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner, and evening snack
what ever works for you!0 -
Mine are:
Breakfast 7am - 10am
Morning Snack 10am - 12pm
Lunch 12pm - 3pm
Afternoon Snack 3pm - 6pm
Dinner 6pm - 9pm
Evening snack 9pm - 12pm
I find this works for me....and yes, I do eat all meals...although I sometimes have to forego my evening snack if I've been bad
My diary is open if you want a peek.

Thanks for the advice all, much appreciated..
As opposed to waiting till 1st Dec, I'm going to change mine now..
The naming is all good - the timing is partly so my PT can see when I eat certain things - as she's trying hard to break my 38yrs of 3-meals a day habit ;-) I know I need to, but as I say, baby steps..
Adding in things like nuts and pitta is a step for me, so I think being more concious of times and meals may help to rid the habit..
Thanks again and appreciate the response.. Good luck to all of you as well..0
