Found out my scale has been deceiving me and giving me various weights.. Seems like I need new batteries. Tried my moms scale and it said I GAINED. I've been going to the gym 3-4 times a week and eating under my cal goal almost every day. I drink 8+ glasses of water a day too! Feeling super discouraged, but I'm not going to stop... WHAT THE HELL! Any ideas?

Different scales can give different results. Unless you weighed on your mother's scale when you started, you didn't necessarily gain.

Also, time of day, time of month and many other factors can affect your weight in a given day.

I gained 4 lbs during my last period. It fell off quickly the next week, but I was very depressed at the time. Different scale could just be different.

I've been weighing myself on my scale, but just figured "why not try it on mom's scale" since my scale was giving me different weights. I'm just really upset because I've been so strict about this since September and lost only about 10 lbs (8 from the summer time & not being so strict). How can I try so hard and not get any results?

Best advice is to stop weighing yourself and go by the mirror/measurements

Don't be discouraged. What the scale says is just a number, don't let it define you. It could just be a minor fluctuation and if you keep up all the good work you're doing, it'll disappear in no time! I know it's tough though. *hugs*

My scale would decide what my day would be like if I let it. I stay off of it most days and I just go by how I feel and how I look.
You could measure yourself in inches or you could just go by how your clothes fit. That seems to be a good indicator of weight loss.
