Hi everyone!

I'm in fairly good shape (5'2" and 115 lbs) but for some reason my arms are still stubbornly chubby. It's strange I've always carried my weigh in my arms, face and bum rather than in my stomach and thighs.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to get rid of the fat there? I've always dreamed of having lean and toned arms.

Thanks!

    How bout we trade???
  • Chair dips - nothing but a chair and your energy required.
Close grip push ups - just need your energy and the floor.

These seem to be helping me and don't require equipment or a whole bunch of space.

Either and many others can be seen on youtube.

Push ups, pull ups, clean n jerks, push press, man makers, burpees, grasshoppers, power cleans, mountain climber burpees, v pushups(aka indian pushups), rows, hand stand push ups...

you can youtube the one's you're not familiar with. The grasshopper is a Crossfit move so be sure to put "crossfit" before it when you look it up.

My goal for 2011 was to not have "teacher arms" ^^^ those helped me get rid of them.

Example workout with only body weight: 12 minutes straight no stopping: 8 pushups, 10 grasshoppers, 8 burpees

Example workout with weights: 3rds: 10 clean n jerks, 12 man makers, 10 rows (with barbell from knee to navel)

If you have a Zumba Toning class in your area, try that out! It's a great workout for toning - my arms have never looked so defined before I started these classes!

The only way to reduce "stubborn" fat is to reduce your total body fat percentage. Sure, doing push ups and pull ups and chair dips will increase the muscle in your arms, but it will not necessarily reduce the fat.

Yeah, I was pretty sure this was the case. I am doing some cardio and eating healthier- hopefully this combined with the targetted muscle training will help with the fat reduction.

    Thanks!
  • I have just recently downloaded the Tracy Anderson Method Mat workout. A lot about long lean lines in the arms and done with low weights. You can really feel the burn. Give it a try.
