Being out of Shape

To be honest, if the person REALLY know's thier stuff, then by all means. Can't judge a book by it's cover. Pro Athletes use facilities and trainers that are far too old to really be in great shape. These guys have a lot of knowledge and wisdom to offer. On the other side of things, I'd definitely be very weary if some really fat guy tried to train me, but I'd talk with him and even ask why.0

I don't think I would go for an out of shape trainer... if you can't practice what you preach, to me you shouldn't be preaching.
Injuries and illness aside.
To me, half the point of a personal trainer is "if he/she can do it, I can do it!"
They aren't preaching though, they are teaching... I'd totally agree if they just went up to you then started to tell you how to be healthy but a trainer is someone that is able to train you and if they can train you then the is no problem. The is a HUGE difference between preaching and teaching0
