I was just wondering if anyone was doing The Firm DVD's and wondering how you would count them in the Exercise log.
It's a 45min DVD cardio and light weight training I love them I got them last year for my birthday and when I was doing them the weight was flying off but then I didn't have time and quit now I am going to pick it back up and was just wondering would I have to count the cardio and weight alone I just want to get it as clos as I can to correct.
Any help will be great.

I would be curious to find this out as well. I'm doing the TransFirmer series though...which ones are you doing?0

I have the old videos that came out like 6 years ago. Body sculpt, cardio sculpt, and ab sculpt? has anyone tried these with success?0

I don't know how to report them in the exercise log, but I did exercise with the Firm DVDs a few years ago, and they worked for me. They were my introduction into strength training which really did change the shape of my body! Along with following their eating guidelines (eating is really important) and working out to them I lost 20 lbs which is what I needed to lose at the time. I've since been working out with Cathe DVDs, because I needed more of a challenge especially with the weights.
I also started out with the Body Sculpt, Cardio Sculpt series and added to my collection when I needed more variety.

I used to do The Firm way back. I loved my Firm tapes, but I, too, moved on to Cathe Friedrich for more of a challenge after having used The Firm for about six years. The Firm workouts I did mixed the aerobics and weight training sessions (some moves with weights, some moves without). If the ones you are doing are the same, I would think about adding them as circuit training. I don't know if that would be a totally accurate way of describing The Firm tapes (especially since I don't know if the circuit training on the log involves aerobics or not), but it may be the closest one available (and there is a category under exercise for general circuit training).
Another option (if the exercises are intermixed to the point that your heart rate stays up in your aerobic range throughout the workout) would be to consider them as pure aerobics (either step or floor, depending on the workout), but I think a higher calorie burn will show up for circuits, and I have a tendency to think that The Firm workouts burn more calories than standard aerobics because of the weights involved (and the circuit training on the log here registers more calories burned for circuits than it does for plain aerobics).
But if the workout is broken down into aerobics followed by weights (in other words, your heart rate drops from the aerobic zone to do the weights), I'd register them separately as so many minutes aerobics and so many minutes strength.
Hope that helps...and enjoy your workouts!0 -

Me too. Cathe is more challenging. Unfortuanatly very time consuming too. Doesn't fit into my plan right now. But looks promising in the furture.
In regards to how to count them; if you have a heart rate monitor I'd record from that as its measuring you specificaly. Best wishes.0 -
Ok well since you do both weight and cardio at the same time I guess I will try to put it as circuit training or aerobics.
I was thinking about getting one of the monitors that tells you how many cal's you have burned by doing what ever it is that you have been doing just need to fine one that is within my budget right now.
