Jillian etc videos- not enough cardio?

This time around I decided to start doing Jillian Michaels workouts (BFBM, NMTZ, 30DShred, RI30) to lose weight. I did these in combination for 3 weeks 6 days a week with a few times a week at the gym on the elliptical as well. I tried calories at 1200 and then tried to up them when that didn't seem to work.

I don't seem to be losing any weight (and I don't mean just lbs, but inches too).

Could it be that these videos are not giving me enough cardio to lose weight? I don't have THAT much to lose...somewhere between 10 and 20 lbs to be in a good range.

Last time I lost weight I did insanity and did running at the gym but I don't want to get back into that program right now until the new year.

Is it possible that I just need more high intensity workouts? No ellipical or Jillian for me?

Maybe alternate days of jillian and days of cardio, so do a big run one day and DVD the next etc.

Think I'm in the same boat as you though, another thing is I always ramp up the cardio bits of her DVDs and sometimes pause it so I can do a bit more than she says

The weight loss aspect is basically a function of your diet (calorie deficit). Are you maintaining a steady calorie deficit? In your case it should be about 250 cals a day for a .5 lb/week loss. Do you weight all or at least most of your food? How are you recording your exercise calories?

Short answer - there is no need to increase cardio. You can lose fat without any cardio at all.

But if I only have a calorie deficit of 250 then I should be eating over 2000 calories a day which sounds waay more than I should. I try to eat well.
I am 159 and 5'7 and 25. I guess I am struggling to find the right number of calories for a deficit and figuring out how many more I need to eat if I am burning 500-600 calories a day during workouts.

Plenty of women are succeeding at 2000+ calories per day. They even made a group! :)

Maybe my problem is that I am not eating enough calories, and my calories aren't coming from healthy enough foods.

I guess it's back to salads.

So people with not that much to lose still had weight loss results from Jillian videos? Did you do extra running/cardio?
