PRe-race munches?
I did cross country but have been out for a year and I'm sure we didn't do everything right/

    pre race food?

    I usually have porridge made with water at least TWO hours before running and a banana an hour before... nothing in the hour leading, nothing fatty or greasy before either, i stay away from milk and other dairy products before hand too, seems to disagree with me...

    I would eat carbs/protein about an hour or an hour and a half before your race...I agree with the oatmeal. I like to put protein powder in with my oatmeal, a banana and mix some cinnamin in it....very tasty and great carbs! Good luck and have fun!!

  • I did well enough.:)
    I got a 29 minute finish.

    I was aiming for under 30

    Last year in XC I started at 33 minutes and finished the season at 26. And I haven't been running much lately, so I am pleased.:)
