i used to get upset when my boyfriend would just call me cute or pretty, like I felt I wasn't beautiful or sexy then just pretty. so i think i would rather be called sexy or beautiful.0

Ever wonder why a guy loses his hair at an early age?
All those terms are meant as sincere compliments to us and are considered interchangeable.
A lady that is cute can also be called beautiful/gorgeous/sexy,none are meant as put downs or all could be false flattery.
Just take the guy for who he is and don`t over think it. :drinker:
Putting flame suit on again. :ohwell:0 -

I use the term cute a lot of times when talking about someone younger than me that I find attractive without being attracted to them. If I tell my husband that our server is cute he knows I just mean he is nice looking but I'm thinking about it the same way I would one of our kids.
I love when my husband calls me sexy but anyone else would be creepy. Beautiful can come across a bit of a sleazy come on way but really tone of voice and body language can change that one up quickly. Having someone tell me I look nice is always good because it removes, in my mind, the connotation that it might be a pick up line. But, again, I make my final judgement based on body language and vocal tones. What is sleazy from one person is nice from another.0 -
It's usually girls that call me cute rather than guys...0

Take the thread for the fun it is and don't overthink it.0 -
My boyfriend only calls me pretty ;( I would prefer if he thought I was beautiful! :laugh:0

I guess gorgeous or beautiful would be my preference. I mainly get called sexy; I don't like that as much, but I'll take it over being called "ugly".:happy:0

I would love to be considered beautiful, but I know at most I'm cute. If a guy ever called me cute, let alone beautiful, I would probably blush so much!!0

I like being told I'm beautiful or attractive. But recently I've been told that I'm "very goodlooking" which sounded so genuine, it made me smile for sure!0

At my age, I could care less what they call me. Fact is, I never really did. But I think the highest compliment to me personally is to be called smart. I've been called good looking and sexy but I prefer smart. I never much cared about my looks. I'd rather be judged for my character and intelligence.
Took the words right out of my mouth. I'd also accept "funny", "awesome", "kick *kitten*", or "strong". Nothing to do with my age, though.0 -
I am usually called beautiful or cute...i prefer those two~so im quite lucky ^^
I do NOT like being called sexy (unless its by my boyfriend), and I feel "pretty" is more a reflection of inner beauty. ^^
I think gorgeous is nice as well, all be it a bit dramatic he he ^^0 -
I like being called cute, it makes me make this face

I generally don't lik beautiful or sexy, as a lot of creepers use those words :L
That being said, with the right person in the right situation being told I'm beautiful can make me feel like a princess, and sexy makes me feel...well...sexy :L
But beautiful has to be from a bf in the right "moment", and sexy...well...definately in certain intimate situations :P
Bang on. It is all contextual. I wouldn't say my girlfriend looks cute when she is dressed up for a night out but equally if she is cuddled up on the sofa, she doesn't look sexy so much as cute.
I think beautiful tends to sound a bit contrived. Maybe it's just me but I can't see myself saying it without sounding totally in-genuine.0 -
anything but cow works for me0

As long as he calls me I'm happy!0
