My AH HA moment...

For years I've suffered with headaches. The worst were the ones I woke up with in the morning and lasted all day. And they were painful! In the last 7 years I've developed an intolerance for alcohol. Wine, spirits, mixed drinks...doesn't matter - a couple of swallows and POW! instant headache. So I don't dare drink alcohol anymore. But the morning headaches I couldn't figure out. What was the trigger?
So then I started with MFP and got right into the eating healthy kick. No processed foods, low sodium, and no sugar. About two months in I'm at a function with the most delectable (sp) sweet treats laid out - and I, of course, sampled each one. The next morning I wake up with the most God-awful headache that I haven't felt in - how long? two months! Ah ha!
So now I know I have an intolerance for alcohol (sugar) and baking (sugar). But at least now I know what caused all my headaches and I can avoid them in the future. Christmas this year is at my mom's - and she loves to bake! So if any of you have some great sugar-free (no artificial sugars either!) recipes I'd love to hear about them!
Happy Thanksgiving to our American neighbours.

Cool observation - and I'm glad your headaches are gone!
What about fruit sugars, are you ok with those?0 -
Fruit doesn't seem to bother me at all. So that's a good thing.0

I'd suggest making Banana Bread with apple sauce instead of oil. The apple sauce will also sweeten the bread. You can use less sugar that way. I wonder if you will still get the headache with a lower amount of sugar.
I adore Bettycrocker.com. See what recipes you could find there.
