For starters im a healthy weight and inshape, i even have a nice toned set of abs. However, I always like to push myself and prove others wrong. I want to start strength training but im clueless where to start. Ive been slacking with working with weights (visiting the relatives and no Ymca nearby) but im actually pretty strong for my size. Im 5'3" weighing in at 115lbs 5 of which i gained due to weigh lifting. But my little motto is "Not Good Enough" which is motivation for myself because it makes me not settle for anything but the best.
I recently saw this and was inspired. I want to do what she can do. And once i set my mind to something my heart follows and then i love it.

I'd recommend either Stronglifts 5x5 or Starting Strength by Mark Rippletoe. Rippletoe has some good beginner videos on youtube on how not to hurt yourself.0

Do you go to a gym? Or are you wanting to do things at home?0

If you belong to a gym, talk to a personal trainer.. Most will do a session for free. They can get you started with a routine and show you proper form so you don't injure yourself.0

I tried reading Mark Rippletoe's Starting Strength but found it a bit dry. Really clicked with The New Rules of Lifting, I found it easy to read and it made a lot of sense (just started the Break-In program yesterday -- definitely feeeling it today!).0
