Morning- I am serious! LOL Started tracking my food about three weeks ago, hope this makes it easier for me and my trainer.
A little about me.. I had a gastric bypass about 10 years ago. At the most I was just over 400 lbs! Hard to believe now. Anyways, I am comfortable with how I look but had a back injury some time ago. Two herniated discs and a couple pinched nerves. Once I got past that acute phase I decided to get stronger and fitter.
I settled on Zumba, I went to about seven diffrent places until I found the right instructor for me. Her name is Rosie and I can tell you she is the sweetest nicest most perfect instructor I have ever come accross. Anyways it's Zumba for me (Love it!) and I have done it for about 3 months, steadily increasing. I've gotten stronger, and become a better dancerm lol, Not!
Anyways, but no wieght loss.
I should probably interject that my metabolism is totally shot. I don't eat all that much, in fact my new trainer has me eating every two hours or so. Easy hugh? Not for me, I have spent forever not eating especially after 4 or five so this is radical for me.
As he broke it down, I need to steadily feed myself to keep things burning.
Some of the ladies at class I met also do boot camp, Physically, I am not able to keep up with anything like that. I can never go back to the pain I went thru with my back but I started physical training with my instructors husband. He is WONDERFUL! Watches me like a hawk to make sure I am building up and avoiding any further injury. So far it is just he and no one else is even present. Luckily for me, the gym is totally private and completely affordable. I just completed the first week of going twice a week, so far so good. I am committed to going until I get where I need to be.
Anyways, they had measured and wieghed me almost three weeks ago. In that three weeks I have lost 3 lbs, (I know, not much), aprox 2% body fat, an inch off my stomach, chest and thighs so I am good with it!
Well, I guess that's all I will say by way of introduction. Hopefully I can gain a few friends with the same goals, Don't hesatate to reach out if you like. My email is robin248@Cox.net and i will use this forum to keep myself honest-it's all about accountability for me and just let the world know how it goes. BTW- my instructors are under bodies in motion and I kid you not, they are good sincere people.
Good luck all!

That's awesome Robin, I am looking into a Zumba class in El Cajon area. I lost 60 lbs last years and recently gained 30 back due to a death of a loved one and caring for her 24/7 for a month in Georgia. The food there is not very health orientated and no exercise. Also I ate what was brought to us because my husband and I could not leave her side. I would really love to do gastric bypass too, however I am a diabetic and need to loose 80 more pounds atleast to not be obese and am kind scared of the radical surgery and how your skin looks after weight loss.
I would love to be your friend on MFP. I have been on this site for 2 years now and love it. Great inspirations and accountability.
I have been struggling lately not sure if its still mourning our loss or just being lazy but I am back in the game now.0
