Very sore/pulled muscle question!!

I've been doing the insanity program.. finishing up my first week of month two (MAX workouts) and since my recovery week last week I have noticed my right side/back close to the top has been hurting. It hurts worse when I bend my body toward that side. I'm not sure if it's a pulled muscle or if it's just really sore but it's been feeling worse after each workout.
Anyway... I'm just curious if it would be better to give a day to rest it out? Or if I should just keep doing my workouts each day as normal and that it'll just get better as I go. I've never really known the rule of what to do when your body is really sore, but this feels more like a pulled muscle than just being sore. But any advice would be helpful! Im just not sure what to do to. Thanks!

can you skip the sections of the workout that involve that muscle? if not, I'd probably take a break. and heat packs are your friend0
