My start weight was 165, I have now been doing this for 7 weeks (in theory i should have lost 7lbs) I joined a challange and having been logging my weight for november.
11/01: 164
11/07: 163.2
11/14: 165.2
11/21: 162.4
I think that Im going to be heavier than that when i weigh in on sunday.
Just keep in mind that weight is relative, muscle weighs more than fat and its the inches that count! That is what i have told myself, I have been dishartened by the fact that i have been more strict and upped the exercise and have had little weight loss or gained weight.
Other peoples reactions is a good indicator, I havent seen a change in myself but others have and that has kept me going.
If it comes off slowly you are more likely to keep it off. (just how i look at it all and feel about it)
The fact that ypu have already lost 45lbs is awsome, your weight loss will slow down at some point.
Dont give up!0 -
What kind of results are you looking for? It's usually good to go on 30-day increments for judging your results.0

Well this probably will have mix results in opnions, but I was having the same issues so I dropped my caloric intake to 1000 for 3 days, and then back up to 1300 for 3 days and that did the trick. Maybe just a fluke.
This after about 3 weeks of little to no loss.0 -
Can someone explain what "zig zag" is in the terms of food? I'm a sorta newbie and I havent heard that term yet. Thanks.0

when i started the 5lb in november challange I took a picture front and side, It has motivated me and I will take one every month for a comparison to keep me on track to reach my goal.0 -
I zig zag unintentionally! I aim for under 1200 cals and try not to eat back my exercise calories (I exercise for an hour + everyday, even if it's just walking my dogs), but a few times a week we eat out or get takeaway so my calories can go up to 2000, on these days however, I make sure I do loads of exercise so I am never over MFP's calorie goal for me. I have lost 1-3lbs every week since joining MFP by doing this, but of course, everyone is different.0

A few weeks ago I was also a WW member. I wanted to compare their system with calorie counting. I logged everything on both apps. Everyday I used all my WW points. One day was about 800 calories, one day was about 1500 calories, all other days were between 1200 and 1400. That week I lost 4.5lb. I got fed up with WW as food choices were so limited.
I have tried zigzagging but have never really lost that much in any one week.
Everyone is different. Its trial and error.0 -
I zig zag, and although I haven't stuck with it very well this past week, it was the only thing that broke the 125 plateau. Stick with it, and make sure you are using a good calculator, like this one:

It is when you add up your calories for the week (daily goal x 7) then consume a varied amount each day, but keep the weekly total the same. i.e. 1200/1800/1500 etc etc0 -
2 weeks so fat and ive gained... not happy!0
-
i just use the weekly graph to zig zag, i think it would be too difficult to follow the calculator....maybe im not zigzagging with enough cals, i assume you should have a difference of at least 200 cals? sometimes its not different by that much, and i never eat that one day at maintenance
i eat back most of my exercise cals, maybe thats my problem. i work out a lot cause i like to eat a lot. i know 1200 wont work anymore so i upped it to 1300 and now im at 1400. i know i have to cut my sodium even more
i do measure, and today i gained a little in measurements too, so im feeling discouraged0 -
Don't feel discouraged! The fact that you are exercising is doing your body good, even if it doesn't feel like it at the moment! Why don't you set yourself a weekly goal such as not exceeding 1200 cals a minimum of 3 times per week and only eating back your exercise cals on the remaining days! Changing what you're doing could help kick start the loss0
