I am so sorry to have to ask this, and yes I know its natural but I just can't feel comfortable about it.
TOM.. there, I said it.
How much weight can you gain before/during? Do you lose it straight after your cycle is done? Im really worried, this week I feel like I have gotten no where and Its making me feel down.
Does every woman experience weight gain during TOM?
Thanks for anyone's help

Generally I gain like 3 lbs. It can vary though. When I'm done the weight goes away though. It's so annoying though.0

It is normal for a woman to retain water prior to and when she's menstruating. Its also pretty normal for women to give into certain cravings for salty, fatty, or sweet foods. This also causes water weight gain and maybe even a little fat gain. For that matter, it's even normal for a woman to get a little constipated, and that will also register on the scale as weight gain or at least weight maintenance. In my experience, it goes away pretty quickly, even before you stop menstruating on occasion. Don't stress about it. Focus on the big picture. This is a long-term battle. What matters is weeks and months and years, not just one day or one week.
As for "how much", that depends entirely on the woman. I usually "gain" 1 to 2 pounds and it's usually gone within a day or two.0 -

Yeah I gain 3 -4 lbs the week leading before and during. After is such a relief... complete deflation LOL !!
It's pretty much just a lot of water weight. Don't worry about it too much, its very common. Go light on your sodium intake & drink your water!0 -
I DREAD TOM! I gain about 5 pounds before and keep it for like 2 days after TOM left SMH!0

it really depends on the person ... and other factors ( stress, fatigue, diet) .... i'm normally around 3lbs over each month but last month i was about 6-7lbs ... so I wouldnt get too stressed when you weigh in during TOM and dont see the results u might be expecting - i had the same problem last month and it can be disheartening but bare in mind theres other things going on with your body to take into consideration when weighing.0
