145 pounds has been my wall for almost nine months. I was yo-yo'ing back and forth between 145 as my low and 151 as my high. I weighed in at 143.9 this morning! I am so happy I could dance a jig!

Has anyone else experienced the "wall"? How did you get passed it?

Congratulations!!:flowerforyou: Yes, I have been against a wall of 192-195 for 3 years and I finally weighed in this morning at 188.6 and I'm so happy. I really didn't work at it all that time, just got tired of clothes not fitting and decided to make a change back in Jan! Looking for more walls to be shattered! Good luck to you:)
  • I'm against my wall right now. Been here since Oct :grumble: I am hoping to walk away from it soon though!

    Congrats on the loss!

I know it's frustrating! Do you have anyone doing this with you for motivation and encouragement?

Well I thinks thats why I am still at my wall. Long story short in Oct I got out of a bad relationship and went to "stay" with my parents for a while. Well figured since I was there I might as well go back to school so I am "staying" a little longer then expected and they always have good fatty foods around. I am trying to change their attitudes but we'll see. I did just today join a gym with my friend and we are going to start going 4 days a week, but waking up at 5 to go is going to be hard ohh well I can do it!

I used to go to the gym no less than 3 days a week and on a normal week 5 days. I had to quit weight lifting due to pushing myself too hard and not taking in the correct amount of protein to offset my muscle gain. What I found now is that I had to change it up and find things I could do at home that are fun. I got a Wii and can't stress how much it helps to have Wii Fit and Outdoor Adventure. Plus I have a decent exercise bike. I loved, loved, loved the gym but kept injuring myself.

I can relate to your situation too. I got divorced and moved in with my parents while I finished a 2 year and started a 4 year school. It was really tough keeping my weight in check with an Irish Mom and country Dad. Everything seemed like it was cooked in bacon grease or had tons of sugar, lol.

I hope you love the gym! Invest in a personal trainer session to avoid injuries through education. And study up on nutrition to fit your workout program to meet your bodies needs. The right amount of carbs and protein make a huge difference in results. GOOD LUCK!!!

Lol, I was doing everything wrong. The "healthy" stuff I thought I was eating was actually loaded with more calories than I ever imagined. Plus I had been advised to drink a glass of red wine every night for cholesterol. I traded that off for Honey Nut Cheerios or Oatmeal. Wine was empty calories. I have made more progress since 1/9 than I had made in the past year
