Will I have to wait again?

I originally started working out in May of this year, and having never worked out in my life, my body took some time to get used to it. During this time, I didn't lose any weight on the scale. I stayed at the same weight for nearly 3 weeks, and finally i started to see it go down. After which it went down, as expected, 1-2 lbs a week.
Well, I took a 3 month break between august and the beginning of this week, during which i only walked my dog every day. that ws all of my exercise. i gained some fat, but I've joined the gym and am planning to go 3 times a week.
my question is: will my body go through that period again during which it will hold on to the weight, like last time? I only have about 10 more lbs to lose before i'm happy with the scale number. And during my 3 months of not working out, i gained fat but it didn't really show on the scale. I had maybe a 1 or 2 lb increase.
so should i expect to see results faster this time?
thank you

Only way to find it is to wait and see, I guess! Can't say for sure how your body will handle it.0
