I suppose we all have those days when we are over in carbs or in fats but still have calories left for the day. I'd like to keep a list of foods handy for those moments...

What are your high protein/reasonable fat/low carb options?

I use carbmaster yogurt, Atkins low carb protien bars and nuts to fill the voids.

I didn't WANT to become a protein shake person. After not being able to eat normally from a slipped disc in my jaw, by the time I could chew again, I vowed to never have a meal replacement shake again. But I did pick up some Vanilla Whey Protein powder from Target (About $17) last week, and a scoop of that in a glass of skim milk or lowfat chocolate milk... YUM! I've always liked a glass of chocolate milk at bedtime. A glass of chocolate milk packing more than 30g of protein is even better!

Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, adding egg whites to just about anything... I add egg whites to bump up my protein in most dinners and often to my oatmeal as well.

High protein / low carb options for me are nearly always eggs. I'll make a cheese omelette usually. It's moderate fat to me but then maybe to some it'll be high fat, 3 eggs, ~25g cheese and a little butter to fry in.

High protein, reasonable carb and low fat would be chicken/pasta salad. By including chicken, I use less pasta (reducing carbs and upping protein) The only fat really in it is the mayonnaise that I mix it will, but that's "light" so it's not much.
