Vacation consequences?

I have been on vacation (well, stay-cation) all this week, and while I have been keeping up with my exercise, I haven't been as diligent with my diet with more than a couple of days over my goal. I expected to put on a little weight and survived with only an extra 1.4 lbs in the end which I can make short work of this coming week.
Here's the weird part, though: my body fat percentage took a dramatic downward turn while my weight went up. I thought it was an anomaly of the conditions of the reading so I took it several times under different conditions and it all revealed the same thing, a drop in about 1.5 - 2% from all previous readings. I've been doing strength training for about 3 months now and I'm starting to see and feel the changes with the lean muscle but I found it unusual that body composition would change so quickly. Did I finally give my muscles the amount of protein they really needed this last week? I find that hard to imagine since that is the one macronutrient I try to go over on. Is there something else going on physiologically? I've got a couple of theories but I'd like to hear yours.
