Anyone had any luck loosing weight by mainly eating Smart Ones Weight Watchers microwave meals? I usually prefer making my own food from scratch, but I like the idea of a portioned meal and since I have 5 kids (one of them thats 5 months old) I don't always have time to plan elaborate meals.

I think you can certainly lose weight with those meals. I have a friend (not on MFP) who lost a lot of weight and her lunch was almost always a lean pocket.
However, those meals do have a lot of sodium. I have 3 kids and work so I know how hard it can be to cook. I use my crock pot A LOT, so that could be a good option for you. I have a recipe book called fix it and forget it lightly and I also find a lot of recipes on skinnytaste.com. Good luck0 -
First of all, how current is your picture? Second, WW/smartones are great if you watch the sodium & you beef-up the veggies.0

This has worked for me when I haven't had time to prepare meals. My son eats lean cuisine and weight watchers meals and loses weight. You just have to be sure to balance the sodium with something fresh, like a small salad, fresh cooked vegetables and fresh fruit.0

What are your kids eating when you're eating a smart one meal?0

That is me a few years after I had my first son, so about 3 years ago. I have had a child since then and gained more weight than I wanted to. I worked really hard on loosing the pregnancy weight after my first child and I am determined to loose it again.0

I prefer Healthy Choice steamers. They taste WAYY fresher. And I think have less sodium.0

I used them frequently for lunches when I did weight watchers several years ago. Always had to bulk them up with extra veggies or a salad, it didn't seem to hold me very well. They are a quick, go to idea when you are in a hurry and have plenty of variety. But there is a lot of sodium. I cook extra and take leftovers, making my own frozen meals now. Your crock pot is definitely your best friend with a huge family. I toss dinner in it in the morning, sometimes even in the insert the night before - i just leave it the fridge overnight. When I get home, it always smells like little elves were in my kitchen cooking all day. Today is apple spice pork roast, with butternut squash and scalloped potatoes as sides.0

I usually make them something separate that they like.0

A few years ago I lost 80 lbs with eating weight watchers smart ones. I'm really bad at portion control so this helped me out tremendously. I've slowly gained almost 30 lbs back and its because I kind of stopped watching what I ate and my portions. I've lost 11 lbs, so far since October. Good luck!0

Another solution would be to make the same food for everyone at home. I see a lot of advantages: kids eat healthy, cheaper, less time spent cooking...0 -

I've been eating fresh and I did try to go back cos you know exactly what your eating but omg they tasted yuk and to top it off I went and watched a programme called the truth about food and I will never look at them in the same way again.0

I know some folks who do fine eating those little meals. I never had much luck, thought they tasted and smelled funny, and was very grouchy and hungry most of the time.
Most of them average US $2 or more each. When boneless skinless chicken breasts can be on sale for 1.97 a POUND, I'd much prefer to make my own by portioning out the chicken breast throwing some frozen vegetables in, shake a little seasoning on and skillet saute with a teaspoon of Olive Oil and in 3 minutes have the same thing for 1/3 the price. Or buy some frozen Ravioli, stick 5 or 6 of them in a dish and pour over 1/2 cup of spaghetti sauce, heat up... bingo... done... same thing, roughly 84 cents.0
