Make a shepherds pie with it and freeze it in individual portions! I plan on making it tomorrow to make room in the fridge and then making containers of it so I can just pop it in the micro for a quick and easy lunch!

The turkey can be divided into serving size packets and put in the freezer. Everything else should go. I'm assuming no one else is eating it.

Could you give the food to someone who is less fortunate? I hate seeing food wasted when people are going hungry.

Maybe you could also give the wine to someone who is less fortunate. Actually, I vote that you give the whole lot to a hobo. He will be so happy.

Get on MFP....divide it up so it fits into your meals for the day. You need fat...protein and carbs and you have plenty of it right there to give you what you need. Make a plan.

What is she going to do? drive around to find a homless person? Food shelters will not take left overs.

Actually i once bought a massive chocolate bar, one of those 1 metre long ones.
And walked around until i found a tramp and gave it to him.
It was one of the things to do on my bucket list lol.. Give a tramp a chocolate bar,

Make pies etc and freeze. The wine will keep for Christmas! Any bottles already open, get some mates round and enjoy!

How sweet! :) I tried giving a guy on a corner an apple...he turned his nose up. I guess some of them are food snobs.

I make turkey soup with the left over turkey and freeze it in portions. Add noodles to it when you thaw and serve it (or rice).

I eat left over thanksgiving if I have it, it's easy to portion out turkey, gravy and stuffing into a normal daily meal, we actually eat that stuff on a semi-regular basis.

wow you have leftover wine? lol that never happens to me. You can freeze it in ice cube trays and use later in sauces and soups. As for the turkey I made a bunch of broth and soup. Will freeze the broth and use later for things. I love the sheppards pie idea. I'm planning on making some enchilada casserole with what I have left in the turkey dept. ;) Good luck

Apparently I'm in the minority, but I'm going to say throw it out. I was raised in house where we cleaned our plates or else, and left overs were good for days on end.

Those are bad habits I had to unlearn and now I am a fan of throwing things out IF they are trigger foods, or something that you will eat even if you're not hungry. For example, if there is extra brown rice, I keep it because I can reheat and make a simple healthy lunch. If there is left over frosting I throw it out, because I know in a moment of weakness I will go at it with a spoon, even if it's in the freezer.

I guess you have to think about how having this stuff in your house will affect you.

There is no way I'll throw all my yummy goodness leftovers away. The potatoes were made with light butter and 1% milk - the stuffing was made with whole grain and light butter - the cranberry sauce (whats left) was very little sugar - the turkey, well we've already made homemade turkey and noodles, turkey sandwiches on whole grain bread - and only have part of a breast left and a wing and a leg. I'll use those for turkey enchiladas - and make a big pan and just freeze individual portions.

I've had 2 pieces of deep dish pumpkin pie sitting in the fridge since Thursday - not tempted at all by them, but if I was - I'd go ahead and plan it in my day.......and eat some.

It's all about planning and making good use of what you have leftover. If you feel like you are going to eat it all at once, well - then maybe you should just throw it out - but what a pitty.

Don't know where you live, but we have a couple of locations in the community that will take left overs.
    1. The Haven - a shelter for homeless folks
    2. A 24 hour hotline for people being abused
    3. A facility that takes in families who have children in the hospital

If you don't know of any of these places in your area, call a local church in the morning. I'm betting any church in the area would know of people who'd really appreciate the food. Don't just throw it out if you can possibly help it.

I can't throw food out when blessed to buy and have it. FREEZE what you don't want to eat now. There are plenty light eating websites that can help you have healthy recipies like soup etc and make sure still eat as you have learned in moderation. Turkey is healthy food. Mashed potatoes make a potato soup....etc.
