Best thing to have after a heavy weight training session?

  • High protien snack as close to the end of your workout as possible, ice cold shower, then a hot bath. The protien will help in the recovery process. The ice keeps the muscle from swelling and becoming painfully sore, and the hot bath (heat) will help relax the muscles so they're easier to stretch and relax.

    Remember, ice THEN heat. Good luck! xx

    Ditto on the banana and the more obvious "protein shake" (right after). Followed by a good meal of meat and veggies.

    i eat a protein bar (immediately, such as, on the way out of the locker room) and i also enjoy cheese & peanuts when i get home. tons of water, too. i'm new to this, though, looking forward to seeing other respones.
