Why does our society teach our young girls that they arent beautiful unless they look a certain way? Why cant you be beautiful and have a bmi if 23.5? Why cant you be beautiful and not wear skinny jeans? Why cant you be beautiful and wear what is in season five years ago? Why cant you be beautiful and have freckles? Why cant you be beautiful without always waxing? Why cant you be beautiful and be you? Why do i see a fat girl in the mirror when everyone says shes not fat? Why cant i see me? Who is this ugly girl in the mirror and why is she moving exactly as i move? What is wrong with you people that you dont give our young girls real women then can model after? Why cant you let the girl who wears a size 6 be a top model and not have to be listed as a "plus model"? Why cant you look at inward beauty instead of outward? What happened to you, society?

A lot of good questions to be asked. When did this slow decaying wrapper we live in become more important then the soul within it. If you are beautiful on the outside and a monster on the inside how can you think you are beautiful. I think if you are beautiful on the inside then you are beautiful no matter what the outside is.

I feel lucky that I went most of my life without caring about any of this stuff, despite being warned that I was "getting chunky" when I was a size 6. Now I know it was more about my grandmother's insecurity than anything having to do with me... she thinks size 14 is "big as a house" and that men don't have an excuse to be fat because they don't have babies.

She is beautiful. And probably very photoshopped, like all models in photos.

One of the worst mistakes in trying to make someone feel good is putting someone else down to do it. Things such as "women have curves" and singling out a body type that way doesn't help. The real message should be that being yourself is beautiful. A body in it's natural, healthy shape is better than forcing yourself to be something that you aren't.

WOW...but I think YOU are dead WRONG! Beauty and anything REAL starts within...search Yourself, know You, Love You, Learn to TRUST YOU (your judgment, taste...) THEN YOU will have the COURAGE to befriend the same TYPE of person YOU value. When You do this "My Little Caterpillar" You will become the Butterfly that you know You are, and the other "Voices" will stop because you will only hear other Butterflies!

STOP Looking Outside for Answers.

I think rather than asking questions like that and dwelling on it, just make the choice to feel good about yourself and live your life making other people feel good about themselves too. Confidence is beautiful and that'll shine through no matter the exterior.

Um. I don't think society makes the rules, we do! And my rules say that even the size 14 girls with a smile on her face and a mustard stain on her shirt is beautiful!

Yes that's what I was thinking too. To say she is not beautiful just because she's thin would be hypocritical of the OP IMO.

Humans are a mean species. I don't know why we are, but we are. Don't lie to yourselves about that. Remember high school? People are like sharks that smell blood in the water. The prettiest woman in the world will fall prey to the sharks if they smell vulnerability. Make sure your kick me sign isn't showing, that's the most important thing to remember. Everything else is just stylistic.

I know a model in person, and I can say, to me, she is a lot more beautiful in person than in her modeling photos. I prefer her candid shots.

I think one of the most painful self-inflicted experiences is not being able to feel comfortable in one's own body. People are always not going to accept you for one thing or another. One person may like freckles while another person may not. It's a fact of life. You can only blame society for so much.
