Working out and Eating!!!

Basically, one of the PTs in my gym did my 4 weekly review, was meant to be my trainer but he had to take the day off. Anyway this guy said that I shouldn't be eating for 2 hours after I finish a workout. This is the first time I have ever been told this but its the complete opposite to what my trainer tells me to do! Usually I have a small high protien meal prety soon after training.
Just wondered if anyone else has heard this and if so do you know the reasoning behind it and does it work?
Gonna ask my trainer when I see him next week but trying to get an answer before then.
Thanks in advance!

I can say I don't believe in that. That's a sweet spot time period where you want to refuel your carbs and protein. Find out who his certification is with as there are some companies that have different opinions on the subject.0

Follow your gut. Literally. If it sounds stupid, don't do it. I wouldn't eat right BEFORE working out. After shouldn't be an issue.0

I think that guy was really odd.0

I was always told to have a protein shake within 30 minutes of finishing your strength workouts.0

I agree with both of you..its important to eat afterwards...ive never heard that and i doe sound weird if u ask me0

Yea I wouldn't buy into that bull.
I was told to eat a snack before hand that has sugar, protein and carbs and then re-fuel after with a protein source.0 -
Thanks, I just googled it and didn't get anything particularly useful/trustworthy! Just thought I'd put it out there and see> Thanks0

Doesn't sound right to me either! Right after a workout (esspecially cardio) your metabolism is working faster and better than at any point. To fuel that metabolism and keep it going for as long as possible you should feed it! I normally eat a brunch bar full of carbs after a workout and I am losing very well!! And to be honest I used to do that when I was thin to! I get very hungry and dizzy after a workout so I need the quick sugar boost!0
