How do you bounce back?

I did really well over Thanksgiving! Sensible portions, healthy choices and tons of compliments on my noticable weight loss from family and friends. Then yesterday I hit a wall. 1/2 a monte crisco at Bennigans (600 some calories) with a side salad (100 some calories), a slice of cheesecake later at home (390 calories) and then the bf out of pure kindness made me a godiva peppermint hot chocolate with skim milk and peppermint marshmallows (I'm SO not even figuring out the cal count of this one).
I have today free from obligation. I will be on the treadmill. But I still feel lousy. I had been at 150 even and today I'm at 151.8.
So share a bad day you've recently had, and how did you bounce back?

Just know that you're bound to fall off the wagon sometimes! It happens to all of us.......I can't tell you how many times I've started my weight loss journey over and over again. Just chalk it up to having a bad day, and get back on track!0

One day in the journey of a lifetime....that ain't nuttin'0

My whole weekend was bad, and I'm not bouncing back, I'm more like crawling back.0

I don't beat myself up about it, or use it as an excuse to make it worse, I just keep going the next day, my goal hasn't changed. It is a lifestyle and I know that I will not be perfect, but every day on track is positive regardless of the day before :bigsmile:0

I just tell myself, I'm going to be tracking my calories for the rest of my life. One slip won't kill me. Don't think about it the next day, don't let it bring you down, that only makes it worse!

Blood, sweat, tears and with the nails digging into the dirt to drag you along. I got that and know what you mean. lol.0 -
Just start new, and try to eat cleaner for a few days- more fruits, veggies, non-fat dairy, low fat dairy, etc. And make sure you keep your exercising up.
Don't beat yourself up about it, this is a lifestyle and there will be days where food will get the best of us. Next time go to Bennigans with a plan of what you will eat before you step in the door, and then stick to it.0 -
Your metabolism couldn't have seen that peppermint hot chocolate coming... way to keep it on its toes!!! Atta girl0

I always think like I'm calorie-zigzaggin on days like that, and the next day I just "cycle" back down to whatever my low calorie goal is.0

we all fall off the wagon sometimes. I did that a few weeks back (for a whole week), and gained weight. So i put my new weight on MPF to face it, and turned off the notifications of losing weight until i was back to where i was before the bingeing. This worked and i passed it, and lost more weight. Yesterday and today weren't very good for me either, so tomorrow i will weigh myself, post the new weight, and just get back on track... We're bound to make mistakes and slip, we just have to get right back on track. Don't starve yourself after this either, because that won't last long... Good luck!!! You did it before, and can do it again!0

I seriously had a day of binge eating a few weeks ago. I think I figured the calories that night and I had between 6-8 thousand calories in the evening. I started off good but then got the munchies and thought the having a cupcake might be ok. That cupcake lead to another then some cookies chased down with some chocolate milk then a strawberry shake from the ice cream place and so one. I stopped keeping track of every thing I ate eventually and went to bed feeling extremely sick and disgusted with myself. The morning after I weighed and had actually gained 6 pounds. That day I was depressed and ready to quit. I was so pissed at myself for doing something so stupid to myself after losing so much weight already. I then decided not to give up and to learn from this experience. I reset my ticker to my then current weight and started again. To this day I stay away from cakes and cookies. I also have given up soda and burgers and fries. Since then I have lost 12 pounds and plan on losing at least 50 more. It's hard but that's what you have to do. Think about who you're doing this for and why. Also think about what you've been missing out on by being over weight. YOU CAN DO THIS AND YOU WILL. Like others have said: everyone has set backs and you will probably have more along your journey. Don't let anybody tell you it is because the 36 that I have lost was a tooth and nail fight. Good Luck!0
