Personally, I wear Rockports. They fit like a glove, never have to "break" them in.

Go to a store and get fitted. Try shoes on so you will know what you like and what feels good on your feet.

i reccomend trying them on to see what feels best.. It really depends on what you plan on doing at the gym.

My favorite shoes are Dual Fusions by Nike. They are very comfortable! I own several pairs. I also recommend Reebox Reezig-they have become my favorite shoes to Zumba in.

what are you planning on? running, walking or dancing? when you know what you are planning on spending most of your time doing that will help narrow the field. once you know what type of shoe you want. google for the top 5 or 10 of that type then go back to the shoe store and see if they have any of the top 5 suggested best......any way that seemed to work for me. i took a long time to get my zumba shoe and i LOVE them!

This.... they're specialists... we're not... you can explain what you want and for what and they can advise you what's best for the activity and your biomechanics and budget. x
  • It's really a personal preference,...but I bought a new pair of adidas this weekend on sale and could hardly believe how great they felt,.....really light and really cushioned. I personally find bikes are narrow and start to hurt after I work out longer than 30 minutes

shoe carnavel has very good prices and you can try them on. ordering shoes on line never works for me. i have a friend that orders shoes on line all the time.....not for me.
  • asics. they are one of the best out there. they are wide and make your foot kinda look like a huge square but when it comes to lightness and comfort. they get the job done. i had a pair and gave them to my daughter cause she liked them. and i recently bought a pair of nikes. the nikes are torture. i couldnt imagine doing any type of exercising in them . with the asics i could walk 7 miles at a time.
i guess it really depends on the shape of your foot. if youre flat footed or high arched or wide or narrow .. but go try a pair of asics on. they run about $130 a pair. but well worth it.

Nike Free run - super flexable and great for all sorts of gym work I find they let my feet move like I am working bare footed and have made such a difference to my knee and hip flexes already...

    Love them...

I just bought a new pair of Realflex running shoe by Reebox. I use them on the treadmill for walking and running. They are light weight and are very light weight and flexible. I didn't have to brake them in either. I choose them because my left foot is a bit wider than my right foot and if I'm not careful shoes can hurt it. This Realflex has been wonderful for me.

It all depends on your feet ( if you have flat feet etc..). As you end up working out more, it will take a toll on your feet down the road. So do to ****'s sporting goods or any running shoe store and get fitted. Initially I thought spending 100 bucks on a running shoe was ridiculous until I tried them on and they felt amazing with no stress. Once you get used to your new shoes, you will be spoilt! Now I have a hard time wearing heels all day!
Personally I was fitted with Saucony's.

My shoes have always supported me best and lasted longest when I have gone and had them fitted specifically for my feet. My last pair were Nike, now I wear Adidas - I personally require a lot of padding as I have very high arches and my new pair have extra padding in the back as well which supports me well since I heel strike. Highly recommend foot locker or similar. Luck!

A few people have hit on the best answer here, and it is basically that we cant help you much

    1. you need to decide what you need your shoes for. Getting a pair of running shoes will be very different than for doing a lot of weightlifting (eg most sneakers have a raised heel which is not advisable for a lot of exercises).

    2. Once you have identified the main purpose of the shoes please see a specialist store to get fitted. It is underrestimated but the feet affect the rest of our bodies so much, it is not something you want to get wrong.

    Happy shopping!
