anyone tried a ryka heart rate monitor?

Has anyone tried a ryka heart rate monitor? They seem to be less expensive than a polar (significantly less). Everyone raves about polar but I don't feel good about spending that much money right now. However, if a ryka one is useless I don't want to waste money on one, either. Anyone tried one?
