Is 2 lbs a week realistically possible?

Is anyone on here actually losing weight at their target rate of 2 lbs / week? HOW ARE YOU DOING THIS? Please share with me your daily routine! I'm staying within my target caloric intake, and I'm exercising 5 days a week! but I think I'm at this slump where I'm not losing any weight.... it actually keeps fluctuating. I must say, this has been very discouraging. //SAD FACE.

2lbs a week is really only for people who have a lot to lose. If you are close to goal, you should aim for .5lb - 1lb per week.0

Losing 2 lbs per week was possible when I started because I had so much too lose. At this point I have changed my goal and am trying to loose 1 pound per week. I am guessing that when I get to where it looks like you are, I will have to reduce that to 0.5 pounds per week.0

With 30 some pounds left to lose 2 lbs a week is a pretty aggressive setting, I'd back it off to 1 or maybe 1.5 and see if you hit that number consistently.
When I joined I'd see 5 - 6 lbs drop some weeks even with the setting for 2lbs a week so logging what I was eating was making my conscious of choices I was making that were obviously giving me far too many calories.0 -
Since you're so close to your weight loss goal, 2 lbs a week isn't very realistic. It's possible but you'd have to have a net calorie intake of less than 1200 calories. That could cause you to plateau, which is probably why you haven't been losing weight recently.
I would up your calorie intake and aim for 1 to 1.5 lbs a week. I currently have about 27 lbs left to lose and I'm aiming for 1.5 lbs a week and it's been much more successful than when I was trying to lose 2 lbs a week.
Good luck!0 -
I'm targeted at 1 pound a week and actually lost 2 last week! So I was burning off 200-400 calories per workout, working out 5 times a week, and netting out to 1200-1300 calories per day.
Have you tried little tricks to boost your metabolism throughout the day? Like eating small healthy snacks in between meals, drinking green tea, and adding interval training to your workouts? It was doing those that broke my 2 month long plateau! Give it a try0
