What are peoples thoughts on Kombucha...i recently started drinking it as an alternative to soy/greek yogurt bc of the probiotics in it...but i don't know if its worth the extra cost my faves are GT's trilogy, and gingerberry

I brewed it at home for a while but it never tasted as good as the stuff I got at the store. I read it was supposed to have a ton of health benifits but I never noticed a difference. Look up how to do it at home on youtube. I went to my local health food store and got a mother, other then that all you need is sugar, tea and a large jar.
  • Yeah I've heard its not hard to make. thanks for the response

My sister drinks it daily and swears by it but I've only had it a couple of times and didn't notice any difference. I love Greek yogurt, so I'll probably just stick with it.
  • i love it. My fav is the Gingerade. I am vegan so I cut out yogurt a few years ago. Its a good replacement. Also less calories if you are looking into that as well. It is expensive but eating healthy now outweighs the price of high doctor bills later.

LOVE kombucha, especially gingerade! the price is worth it to me!
  • I want to start making my own. My best friend keeps telling me how (he's been doing it for years) and I still haven't started. Last time he visited he even got me the huge glass container w/ lid to make it in. I guess I'm scared of doing it wrong
  • I found a scooby and instructions on craiglist. But going on this thread motivated me to actually start doing it. I get to go pick it up on Friday and will start brewing my own tea this weekend!!!

    Can't wait :flowerforyou:
