I'm sure that making sure you eat a well balanced diet and avoid empty calories helps, however for me, it doesn't seem to matter what I eat or how soon I exercise after I eat, I always feel an energy let down. I just figure that I have to push myself through it and I will eventually get past the let down. Incidentally, that is why I like to walk outside, once I am walking I have to finish, even when the energy let hits! That is how I get around it!

through recommendations on these forums i've discovered FRS energy drink. It's pretty much just a buch of vitamins and half-cup-of-coffee's worth of caffiene. was originally designed for cancer patients needing energy during chemo. it's by the livestrong people so it's not one of those scary MONSTER SUPER ENERGY 7 HOUR POWER MEGA LIFT drinks. i get the low cal stuff (25 per) at Target and it's a noticably large boost during my workout. also doesn't make me jittery or an anxious mess (as i've got a bit of generalized anxiety) good luck!

Have you watched Forks Over Knives, Food Matters, Fat Sick & Nearly Dead??? Will change your thinking and your life! Need an energy boost?? I've been doing what they suggested... Fruits and Vegetables for 3-4 weeks. I've lost 25 lbs and have lots of energy. It's healthy and it's not a 'quick fix boost' like these energy drinks or pills. I'm not one for vegetables at all. But, even my kids and hubby are asking for vegetables! My 10 yo is juicing on his own and my 12 yo is steaming broccoli for lunch/dinner almost twice a day! : ) The kids watched the videos with me on netflix and it is hysterical to watch them go to the store or a restaurant now.

Anyway, sorry for the ramble... Fruits and Vegetables... that's where your energy will get a sustainable boost! : )

i'd be more inclined to have something carby before working out, like a banana or yogurt

If it's a workout energy boost - why not just have a cup of coffee or two?

    Or 5 hour energy.

Or a red bull and vodka. :) jk
