Hi, so...I have never tried to loose weight. When I was younger (till mid 30's) had to constantly try to gain weight. Then I got out of construction and into nursing and WHAM...there it was! lol So now I'm on my mid 50's and tired of being over weight.
At 5'9" 227lbs, time to do something.

Like I said, never tried to loose before. What I like about this site/app is, that even as a nurse I never paid attention to what I was eating. Never realized how many calories I was eating. And I am a bread lover so... there stands a big part of my problem.

My wife and I are seafood lovers and we eat a lot of fish. Probably 2-3 times a week. Just being aware of my intake I think will make a huge difference.

I will kick up the exercise here again. I used to walk frequently, just need to resume.

Anyway, great site! I'll be around for a bit. Feel free to say hello.

heyy!! what path do you think u want to take for ur weightloss? just diet, gym, running, home excersise vids?
  • Diet and gym, I broke my ankle and heel in the 80's so running is out of the question. I started walking (weather permitting) and I own a Bow Flex. Need to put some cardio in somewhere.
  • I just sent a friend request. Sounds like we have a lot in common as far as our goals our concerend. Just joined MFP myself as of today.
  • Welcome!! Mfp is a great place!!
