Can using my elliptical on carpet cause my "calories burned" to be lower than what MFP says that should be?
for example.. tonight I did the interval training workout for 35 minutes and my machine said I burned 190 calories while MFP says it should be around 351 and I am not sure whats going on.. any ideas?

The only way to know for sure is to use a heart rate monitor. MFP and your machine are just estimating your calorie burn based on your height/weight, not necessarily your intensity (heart rate).0
